Manuel Furtado Morgado, 70, of Osterville, MA entered into Eternal Rest on Tuesday, September 29, 2015. Born and raised in Sao Miguel Island, Azores - Portugal to the late Manuel Amaral Morgado and Iria (Furtado) Morgado, he met the love of his life Alina Tavares (Carreiro) Morgado. They married in Canada and came to the U.S. in 1969 settling in Marstons Mills where they resided for 11 years before moving to Osterville 26 years ago.Before his retirement, Manuel started his own business specializing in painting and wall papering. He was a hard worker and very supportive of his family. He gave everything to his children and wanted to ensure they would have a decent life. Manuel was a true Cape Codder, his heart belonged to Cape Cod, he couldn't picture himself living anywhere else. Manuel was very proud of his Osterville home which he constructed with his family. He was especially fond of his home's landscaping which is diligently cared for and maintained. In his leisure, Manuel was an avid Red Sox fan.Manuel is predeceased by his dear sister Maria Medeiros of New Bedford, MA. He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years Alina Tavares (Carreiro) Morgado; his loving sons, Dean Martin Morgado and his wife Nicole of Irmo, SC, Mark Paul Morgado, Sr. and his wife Laura of South Yarmouth, MA; his adored daughter Lisa Morgado and her fiancée Shane Riley; his dear brother Joseph Amaral Morgado of Osterville, MA and his dear sister Iria DeMelo of Sao Miguel Island, Azores – Portugal. Manuel also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren Dereck, Tyler, Kyle, Jordan, Mark, Jr. and Hailey.Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation Monday, October 5, 2015 from 4pm to 8pm at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home 160 W. Main St., Hyannis, MA 02601. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 am Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church 76 Wianno Avenue Osterville, MA 02655.
