Michael Romiza, 59, of East Falmouth passed away on Monday, January 11, 2016. He was born in Wareham and raised in Falmouth by his parents, Louis and Margaret (Medeiros) Romiza.
Michael worked as a self-employed shellfisherman, a handyman and landscaper. He was famous for his family clam bakes and his stuffed quahogs. He also enjoyed, fishing, boating, hunting, playing horseshoes and especially spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and many friends.
Michael is survived by his companion of 27 years, Derrie Ann Silva; his children: Cristy Romiza Diaz and husband Rick, Casey Romiza, Michael Romiza, Sean Romiza, Melissa Romiza, Genna Romiza; his grandchildren: Payton, Gabriella, Mikayla, Savannah, and Tyler; his mother, Margaret Romiza; his brother Louis Romiza, Jr.; all of Falmouth, and his brother Joseph Romiza of California. He was predeceased by his father, Louis and his brother, Richard Romiza.
Visiting hours will be held from 4-7 PM on Friday, Jan 15th at Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Falmouth. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, Jan 16th at St. Patrick’s Church, 511 Main Street, Falmouth. Burial will be private.
