WELLFLEET - Nancy Cooke, 67, of Manchester Center, VT passed away peacefully in Wellfleet on January 18th after a long illness. Nancy is survived by her twin sister, Greta Einig of Wellfleet, MA, her niece Michelle Fanzo of Pittsburgh, PA, and nephews Dustin Einig of Portland, OR and Adam Mullins of El Dorado Hills, CA, and her cousin Susanne Loomis of Kailua, HI; her community of friends, and her adorable dog, Lucy.Formerly of Montclair, NJ, Nancy was an executive assistant for Sun Chemical for much of her career. She also possessed an innate artistic talent that became her signature skill and framed the way she viewed the world. Nancy created beauty in big and small ways, and had a deep affinity with animals, which gave her great joy. She moved to Vermont in 2003 as the fulfillment of a long time desire to be part of the southern Vermont community, and quickly became a volunteer at the Second Chance Animal Center in Shaftsbury. Nancy was known for her kindness and generosity, a quick sense of humor, and her love for friends and family. She had a special place in her heart for her Corgies who predeceased her: Willie, Harry and Chester.A private memorial service will be held in the spring in VT.
