Nicholas G. Ettore, 94, of North Eastham, MA, died Tuesday, March 1, 2016.Nick was born to the late John and Josephine Ettore, July 2, 1921, in Jersey City, NJ. Nick is survived by Joan (nee: Anstatt) his wife of 66 years, his two children John (wife Lee) of Las Vegas, NV and Steven (wife Carolyn) of Bristol, TN, and his two blessed grandchildren Nicholas and Paige. He is also survived by his sisters Ronnie Formosa and Ava Bruni of Fort Lee, NJ, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and Mary Anstatt of Lakewood, NJ, and many nieces and nephews.Nick began a life of service early when he left high school to help support his family during the depression. During World War II Nick served four years in the Pacific Theater in the US Coast Guard as a gunners mate aboard LST-765. Returning home he married, worked in the garment industry, raised a family, and served his community as the Scoutmaster of North Bergen Boy Scout Troop 90 where he was a role model for young men for over two decades in demonstrating honesty, integrity, and respect for each other and nature. Nick and Joan retired to Cape Cod 28 years ago where Nick, along with Joan, was an active member of Saint Peter's Lutheran Church of Harwich, MA where he served as an usher. Although he will be missed by all he touched, he will be welcome in heaven.Service will be held at Saint Peter's Lutheran Church of Harwich on Friday May 20th at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Bourne National Cemetery.
