Rita Graziosi (Kaloyanides), 91 of Centerville, MA /Stuart, FL and formerly of Waltham,MA and Somerville, MA passed away peacefully and in quiet repose on Friday February19. Rita was the beloved wife for 64 years of Joseph Graziosi, having just celebrated theiranniversary earlier this month. Born Aristea Kaloyanides in 1925 she was the daughter ofGeorge Kaloyanides and Corina Georgiades, Greek immigrants from Turkey, and theyounger sister of the late Theodora ("Dora") Cardamenis of Los Angeles, CA. Rita wasthe loving and beloved mother of Corine Sullivan and her husband Barry of Attleboro, MA;Joseph G Graziosi of Centerville, MA; James Graziosi and his wife Donna of Attleboro,MA; John Graziosi and his wife Theresa of Waltham, MA. She leaves behind 11grandchildren Jason,Joshua, Jenna, Jonathan (Graziosi); Matthew, Harrison, Joseph (Sullivan); Aristea, Cory (Graziosi); Randy, Samantha (Wnuk)and 5 great grandchildren, Aidan, Jackson (Graziosi); Avery, Leah (Graziosi); Hannah Mae Sullivan. Rita grew up in Somerville, in a triple decker full of aunts, uncles and first cousins. A graduate of Somerville HS ('43) and Fisher Junior College she was known for her spunk and outgoing personality, involved in basketball, swimming, dancing (jitter bug champion),glee club, etc. As a wife and mother she continued her energetic ways sailing, golfing, dancing, gardening, walking, knitting and became everyone's favorite cook and baker. She met her future husband working at Lehigh Metal in Cambridge, married in 1952, and eventually moved to Waltham, MA where she would raise her brood. Summertimes she loved nothing better than gathering her children with friends and relatives in tow to visit one of the numerous Massachusetts beaches, to eventually settle for regular times at firstPoponnessett Beach in Mashpee and then Craigville Beach in Centerville. Rita was involved in activities such as Philoptochos Society at the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church in Watertown and then St Nicholas Church in Lexington, as well as volunteer work at the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton and the Metropolitan State hospital in Waltham. Rita leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, boundless hospitality and memories to becherished forever.Family and friends are invited to attend visitation Thursday, February 25, 2016, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1130 Falmouth Rd (Route 28) Centerville, MA 02632. Followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 am.
