William C. Carrigan, 89, of Wareham, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015. He was the husband of the late Mildred H. (Percy) Carrigan.
Born in W. Bridgewater, he was the son of the late Curtis W. & Blanch E. (Derry) Carrigan. Mr. Carrigan worked as a truck mechanic for National Grid for 42 years. He enjoyed woodworking and metal detecting. Mr. Carrigan was a member of the Church in the Pine in W. Wareham.
Mr. Carrigan was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946.
He is survived by his son, William C. Carrigan, Jr. and his wife Kelly of W. Bridgewater; his grandchildren, William C. Carrigan, III, Robert S. Carrigan, David M. Riha, Karen A. Fox, Julie A. Brearly and Jessica Riha; his great grandchildren, Serena, Nolan and Sean Fox and Andrew Brearly. He was predeceased by his daughters, the late Judith Lee and Jean Crouch.
His funeral service will be held on Thurs., Sept. 17, 2015 at the Church in the Pines, 17 Carver Road, W. Wareham at 11 AM. Interment will be in Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be Wed. at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham from 4 – 7 PM.
