What does Harwich mean to you? That is the question the Town is asking its residents in an online survey. The questionnaire is a way to determine how those living in Harwich perceive their town in an effort to develop a town brand.

The Town of Harwich has hired North Star Destination Strategies to brand the town. The process, according the Harwich Chamber of Commerce, will "ultimately define the community's 'marketing brand'. Think Virginia is for Lovers or I Love New York.

According to the Chamber, North Star is an industry leader in community branding and responsible for creating many a "positive community persona". The company has helped shape the brand for towns, cities and districts from coast to coast, from Tehachapi, CA to Providence, RI. The Nashville-based company's goal is to make a community stronger, competitive and make them look good, according to their website.

On Wednesday, April 30 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., The town will present "The Power of the Brand: Branding Harwich for the Future" at the Harwich Community Center, 100 Oak Street. Residents and business owners are encouraged to attend the community presentation featuring representatives from North Star.

The Harwich Chamber survey asks a variety of questions to gauge the participant's perception of the town. Take the survey here.
