Falmouth man taken into federal custody on weapons charges

Arrest follows 10-month investigation by Falmouth police, ATF

EAST FALMOUTH - An East Falmouth man was taken into federal custody Friday on weapons charges. According to a Falmouth police release, Eric Lawrance, 30, was arrested on a federal warrant for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Lawrance was arrested Friday by Falmouth police and Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms (ATF) agents and transported to the US District Court in Boston for a federal court appearance.

The arrest was a result of a 10-month investigation by Falmouth police and federal agents following a drug raid last year.  In October 2013, Falmouth police executed a search warrant at a home on Sandwich Road in East Falmouth, arresting Lawrance and two other people. During the raid, police seized marijuana, prescription narcotics, cash, two hand guns and ammunition.
