UPDATE: Route 6 roadwork to cause continued delays in Wellfleet

Route 6 will be down to one lane in work areas over the next day or two

UPDATE: There has been a schedule change according to a release from the Wellfleet police this morning. Work has been shifted to the evening and will commence on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Work will continue until 5 a.m. According to the release, a third day (Wednesday) will likely not be needed. Roadwork will be done in the eastbound lane (heading to Truro), from Lecount Hollow Road to the Truro town line.

The delays experienced on Route 6 in Wellfleet Monday will continue on Tuesday, according to a release from the Wellfleet police.

The roadwork which consists of grinding and repaving sections of road requires one lane of the highway to be closed.

Work will start up again at 7 a.m. on Tuesday and continue into the early evening hours, according to police. If required, the work will continue into Wednesday, causing similar delays.

Delays are very likely in Route 6 works zones in South Wellfleet, police said.

Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate roads in order to avoid delays.
