Harwich announces two roadwork projects

First to begin on 10/10, second to start 10/14

It seems most towns are taking advantage of the good weather and slowdown in traffic to tackle some much needed roadwork.

In Harwich, two paving projects are scheduled for October. First up, the section of Main Street between Depot Street and Queen Anne Road in North Harwich will be milled and repaved beginning Friday, October 10. The project is slated for completion on October 15.

For the second project, set to begin Tuesday, October 14, Snow Inn Road, which leads to the Wychmere Beach Club in Harwichport, will be repaved from Route 28 to the end. The Snow Inn Road project is expected to be completed on October 16.

One lane of traffic will remain open at all times during both projects. Motorists should expect delays in both areas and seek alternate routes in possible. Delays of 15 minutes or more may occur at either site.

Police officers will be on site to assist motorists.
