Suspect arrested in connection with Falmouth stabbing

Falmouth man located hiding in Ellsworth Drive home

FALMOUTH - Police have arrested a Falmouth man in connection with a stabbing that took place Wednesday morning. According to a Falmouth police release, Thursday night detectives learned the suspect, 23-year-old Robert Estrela of Falmouth, was at a home on Ellsworth Drive.

Falmouth detectives and patrol officers and two Barnstable County Sheriff's Office deputies located Estrela hiding in an upstairs bedroom of the home.

Estrela, who is reportedly known to the victim, was placed under arrest and transported to the Falmouth Police Station where he was booked and charged with assault to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a Class A substance (heroin)-subsequent offense.

The unidentified victim of Wednesday's stabbing was taken to a Boston-area hospital with non life-threatening wounds, according to police.
