Falmouth police investigate violent motel invasion

Guest reportedly stabbed, assailant flown to Boston hospital

TEATICKET - Falmouth police are investigating an early morning altercation at a Teaticket Highway motel that left two men injured. According to a Falmouth police release, officers responded to a room at the Great Bay Motel at 485 Route 28 early Sunday morning.

A preliminary investigation indicates that an unidentified man entered a motel room without invitation and reportedly held the occupants against their will, police said. The assailant reportedly left only to return armed with a knife.

The male occupant of the room reportedly armed himself with a piece of wood strapping.  The occupant was stabbed in the face and head during a physical altercation, according to police. The assailant was injured after being struck with the wood strapping.

Falmouth Fire & Rescue transported both men to Falmouth Hospital by ambulance. The assailant was then flown to a Boston area hospital by a MedFlight helicopter crew. His injuries are believed to be serious.

Falmouth police are withholding the names of both men. The invasion and subsequent altercation are under investigation. An arrest and charges are likely.
