The work will comprise of the placement of a hot mix asphalt overlay of 1.5 inches in thickness. The roadways being resurfaced will not be widened or altered. Stormwater run-off will also not increase, according to a Brewster DPW notice.
Work was set to begin on Monday, August 10.
The following roads will be resurfaced during phase one: Paines Creek Road (from Route 6A to Stony Brook Road), Stony Brook Road (from Route 6A to AP Newcomb Road), Stony Brook Road (from AP Newcomb Road to Satucket Road) and AP Newcomb Road (from Satucket Road to Stony Brook Road).
The resurfacing of these areas is expected to take two weeks, weather-permitting.
Motorists may experience delays during the project.
