Man Arrested Following Workplace Violence at Yarmouth UPS Facility

On Friday, November 22, 2019 at 5:30AM, Yarmouth Police Department Patrol Officers responded to the United Parcel Service shipping facility at 131 Ansel Hallet Road in West Yarmouth regarding a disturbance between employees involving a knife.

Upon arrival, Patrol Officers observed 20 people standing outside and were advised that the suspect was inside the building.

Officers found the suspect inside the building, searched him for weapons, and secured him.

The on-scene investigation determined that the suspect and another employee became involved in an argument. During the dispute, the suspect held a knife high over his head and threated the other man. After the threat, the man threw the knife under a metal shelf.

Officer located the knife and it is being processed and held as evidence.

The suspect was placed under arrest, transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters for booking, and subsequently transported to the Barnstable District Court for arraignment.
