Yolanda Geraldine Berube, 93, died peacefully in her sleep of natural causes Tuesday, August 18th at her home in North Falmouth, MA. A large group of family was by her side. Ma, mom, Nonna, Gerry, Yola, as she was called by family and friends, lived a full and glorious life. Her spirit will be carried on by her 6 children, 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and 2 sisters. Gerry was born and raised in Mansfield MA, the oldest of four children. She married her navy sweetheart, Ed Berube, in 1946, sharing almost 50 years of blissful marriage until his sudden death in 1996. In 1957 Gerry and Ed moved to North Dighton, MA where together over the next 40 years they worked and raised their family. In 1997 Gerry moved to her current home in North Falmouth, a house she and Ed built themselves as a summer residence in the mid 1950’s. She also began spending several months each winter in Jupiter FL. All who had the benefit of Gerry’s company, most especially her children and grandchildren, benefitted from her always frank wisdom, counsel and opinions, sometimes solicited, often unsolicited, but always on point. Gerry was a larger than life presence who did what she wanted to do and said what she wanted to say. She was an irreplaceable part of each life she touched, a remarkable, unforgettable woman who will be missed by all.
