15 Best Restaurants in Yarmouth Massachusetts

Famished? Looking for a fantastic dining experience in Yarmouth? Are you vacationing in this quaint town? Or maybe you are buying a home in Yarmouth and moving here?

Well let me be your guide.

As someone who grew up spending many summers on the Cape searching with their family for the best clam chowder and lobster roll, I can say that Yarmouth is one of the towns that offers the widest variety of flavors when it comes to cuisine.

Whether your looking for a casual family eatery or a fine-dining experience, Yarmouth has plenty of enjoyable dining options.

Check out the list below to discover your next restaurant destination in the beautiful Yarmouth area.

1. Old Yarmouth Inn

Established in 1696 and located in the heart of Yarmouth Port, the Old Yarmouth Inn maintains the title of the oldest inn on Cape Cod.

Serving classic American cuisine and local seafood in a family-friendly environment, this restaurant is a must for anyone craving a modern twist on traditional seafood dishes or a slice of arguably, the best carrot cake I have ever had.

The classic cocktails are perfectly made and the drink menu offers plenty of wines by the glass.

While reservations are recommended for a meal at the Old Yarmouth Inn, it’s worth the wait. But if you can’t get a table, not to worry–they also do local delivery.

Additionally, brunch is also offered on Sundays from 10 am-1:30 pm. I suggest trying one of their bloody marys to accompany a plate of steak and eggs or French toast casserole.

Whether you decide to try Old Yarmouth Inn for brunch, dinner, or their 3-course “pre-6” menu served from 4-6 pm, the cozy, charming ambiance makes for an amazing experience all around.

Go for its incredible history; stay for the fantastic food and drink.

2. Keltic Kitchen

Easily one of my favorite breakfast spots throughout all of the Cape, Keltic Kitchen serves up an authentic Irish breakfast perfect for any occasion.

Keltic Kitchen

The Irish-diner-style atmosphere is welcoming and offers seats inside or in their screened-in porch area. The prices at Keltic Kitchen are very reasonable and I’ve always found their portions to be quite generous.

When it comes to food, their menu features unique items such as savory bacon, apple, cheddar, and potato pancakes, as well as crème brûlée french toast. They offer gluten-free options for both pancakes and waffles as well.

However, Keltic Kitchen is possibly most known for its renowned corn beef hash that easily lives up to expectations. While my usual order for breakfast is one of their omelets, I always sneak a few bites of corn beef hash if someone else orders it!

Keltic Kitchen is a brunch hotspot so be prepared to wait in line, but I promise it’s worth it.

Don’t forget to check out the Irish-themed gift shop behind the restaurant!

3. Skipper Chowder House Cape Cod

As one of Cape Cod’s oldest waterfront restaurants, Skipper is a family-friendly spot perfect for lunch or dinner.

With views of the Nantucket Sound, Skipper is one of the few restaurants where the scenery is just as incredible as the food itself. In fact, we like Skipper’s so much it made our best things to do in Yarmouth list!

The cocktail menu is nearly as vast as the food offerings, giving patrons a wide variety of options when choosing their meals. I highly recommend the lobster roll paired with Skipper’s signature frozen mudslide.

The menu also features unique items, like “Fried Clam Chowah” and their full raw bar is stocked with fresh options.

The fisherman’s platter is a terrific choice for anyone wanting the full seafood experience, as your plate will be generously stacked with fried whole-belly clams, scallops, jumbo shrimp, and Atlantic cod. This platter can also be split between your table if you find it too daunting to take on yourself! The kid’s menu also provides plenty of options for those ten and under.

The restaurant does not accept reservations, it’s first come first serve, so get there early and be prepared to wait a bit. However, the friendly and attentive staff make the experience especially worth the potential wait.

Skipper is also open until 11 pm, so it’s a great place for a late-night meal or drinks.

Lastly, don’t forget to stop by their ice cream shack for dessert–or for something to nibble on while you stroll on the beach.

4. Leonessa

Opening its doors in April, Husband and wife-owned and operated Leonessa offers Italian-inspired cuisine in a cozy, contemporary environment.

Leonessa Restaurant

Located in Yarmouthport, this restaurant puts forth handcrafted cocktails and beautifully presented plates of food. The ingredients are fresh and locally sourced; much of their produce is even grown in their family garden.

My family recently had dinner at Leonessa for my mother’s birthday and the meal was wonderful from start to finish. We all started our meal with cocktails–I was able to enjoy one of my favorites: an Aperol Spritz.

Standouts for food included pan-seared scallops, lobster risotto, and chicken under a brick. The entire atmosphere was welcoming and the waitstaff was warm and incredibly attentive to our table.

I am very much looking forward to returning and trying the wood-fired pizza!

5. Inaho Japanese Restaurant

Inaho is the perfect spot for anyone wanting an upscale dining experience right in Yarmouth Port. Known for its consistency in freshness, the sushi at Inaho is mouthwatering and full of flavor.

Inaho Japanese Restaurant Collage

Every time I’ve been to Inaho the service and presentation have been impeccable. If you don’t mind a little heat, the stuffed jalapeno appetizer is a must. My favorite rolls to order are the Red Dragon Roll and the Tuna Hand Roll, both of which always taste incredibly flavorful and fresh.

I’m very picky about sushi and where I chose to trust it from, and Inaho has never let me down in that department; it’s always top-notch. Their Saki menu is also extensive and you can even get a bottle to go if you order take-out.

For those not in the mood for sushi, Inaho’s chicken teriyaki and chicken katsu are great options. For dessert–the flourless chocolate cake is decadent and memorable, something I know first hand since trying it when I was eight years old!

Sit at a table, the sushi bar, or their gorgeous cocktail bar while you wait for your table Definitely call and make a reservation, this place is always busy!

6. Tugboats at Hyannis Marina

Though Hyannis is in the name, this family-friendly seafood joint is actually located in West Yarmouth.

Newly renovated with gorgeous views of the harbor, this restaurant is the perfect spot to grab a fish taco for lunch or a lobster dinner on the water.

Not a fan of seafood? The short-rib grilled cheese is a customer favorite. The restaurant also provides daily dinner and drink specials, as well as special menus for most holidays.

Tugboats is even rated as one of Cape Cod’s best outdoor dining restaurants, not surprising considering its incredible views and warm, attentive staff. It is also open until 11 pm, making it a great place to grab a beer and watch the game!

For the ultimate experience, try and book your reservation so you’ll get to eat during sunset!

7. Gerardis Cafe

Geradis Cafe has been owned by the Gerardi family and in business for over twenty years, this Sicilian-style restaurant offers traditional Italian cuisine in a cozy environment full of ambiance.

Gerardis Cafe

The warm, old-fashioned decor in the restaurant makes it feel like you’re part of the Gerardi family as soon as you walk in.

The flavors at Geradi’s are complex and deeply layered. Housemade pasta is a staple of this fine-dining establishment. Paired with a glass of red from their impressive wine list, you’re sure to have an Italian meal to remember.

The presentation of meals is gorgeous and filled with attention to detail. Popular menu items include meatballs, shrimp scampi, and homemade ravioli.

My personal favorite is the chicken prosciutto appetizer, something I have actually ordered as my main course many, many times.

Make a reservation for a family dinner or romantic date night and head to South Yarmouth!

8. Jack’s Outback Restaurant

Nestled behind stores on Main Street in downtown Yarmouthport, Jack’s Outback Restaurant is a hidden gem worth finding.

Jack’s Outback Restaurant

A quaint house renovated into a casual eatery with beautiful beamed ceilings and an open kitchen, patrons can eat inside or on the outdoor patio.

You can enjoy homemade popovers, Belgian waffles, and various egg Benedicts. The lunch menu is just as vast, offering many specialty sandwiches, chicken wings, and salads.

My personal go-to for lunch is always the patty melt. The specials board also offers new choices and everything is served in clean, warm surroundings.

As an added bonus, customers are greeted warmly by the beautiful Golden Retriever, Andi! Jack’s Outback is cash only, so don’t forget to hit the ATM before you head over!

9. Sweet Tomatoes Neapolitan Pizza

With locations in both Chatham and South Yarmouth, Sweet Tomatoes Pizza is the perfect spot for New Haven-style thin-crust pizza on the Cape.

Sweet Tomatoes Neapolitan Pizza

Their homemade signature, chunky red sauce is delicious–whether you just want a slice on the go or a whole pie. The menu has unique, specialty pizzas like “The Jerk” which is topped with pineapple, jerk chicken, red onion, and mozzarella.

Their steak bomb calzone is another yummy choice. For an appetizer or non-pizza option, their goat cheese salad is particularly delicious.

The prices at this restaurant are considered very reasonable, allowing for great food without breaking the bank. As someone who has lived in Connecticut and had New Haven pizza, I can say that this place definitely lives up to expectations.

The modern decor and fun environment also add to the experience of eating at this spot!

10. IL Montebello

Opening its doors in 2017, IL Montebello is another one of Yarmouthport’s hidden gems. The restaurant offers authentic Italian food based on family recipes passed down for generations.

IL Montebello

Their menu is large and has a wide array of pasta, pizza, and many traditional Italian entrees that can be made with either chicken or veal.

Personally, my favorites will always be the chicken marsala and veal saltimboca. The dessert offerings are lucious, whether you want a post meal cappuccino or a scoop of gelato.

They also have an extensive speciality cocktail menu with refreshing options like their watermelon mojito or cucumber melontini.

IL Montebello overlooks King Way Golf Club and has plenty of outdoor seating if you want a more casual dining experience. The overall atmosphere at this establishment is inviting and elegant.

11. Yarmouth House

Yarmouth House is a family-founded restaurant that has been around for almost fifty years!

Yarmouth House

The environment is modern and upscale while still maintaining a comforting homage to its history. This includes the decorative waterwheel! The atmosphere is great for a family dinner or a date night.

Looking at the menu, The baked stuffed lobster and prime rib are highly recommended, either of which can be enjoyed inside or outside, in one of their many dining areas.

The restaurant offers weekly appetizers, main courses, and dessert specials. Yarmouth House’s children’s menu also has plenty of options, all of which come with unlimited soda and a free ice cream dessert.

This is definitely a popular spot, so I highly recommend reservations.

12. Royal II

Royal II is a family-friendly restaurant located in Yarmouthport that offers classic Mediterranean options as well as Italian and American cuisine for lunch and dinner.

Royal II

The atmosphere is comfortable and casual while still remaining elegant. You can sit in the dining room or at their full-service bar.

This is a great place for families to eat because of the many different choices when it comes to cuisine; if one person craves a cheeseburger, another pizza, and someone else wants a chicken gyro–no need to worry, Royal II has you covered.

The friendly staff is even known for sometimes passing out free samples of pizza, allowing customers to indulge in the homemade dough. In addition, the children’s menu supplies plenty of meal options and they do have daily specials.

The restaurant also offers a special three-course “Sunset Dinner” from 3-6 pm, as well as take-out and delivery!

13. 908 Bistro

A new restaurant in 2022 and immediate hit, 908 Bistro is a husband and wife-owned spot that boasts high-quality food in a warm, friendly environment.

908 Bistro

The bistro is open for lunch and dinner and uses locally sourced ingredients to provide the best plates of food possible.

From tuna sashimi to their Cape Cod style Reuban, 908 Bistro is sure to have continued success and happy returning customers.

As a newer restaurant, the menu often has new additions, and their special menu changes daily. 908 Bistro even provides an Earlybird menu from 4-7 pm.

The restaurant itself is very cozy and quaint. However, because it is a smaller place with growing popularity, I would definitely make a reservation if you plan to eat here!

14. Captain Parker’s Pub

Around since 1981 and open year-round, Captain Parker’s Pub is the ideal spot for any family wanting a casual, sit-down place for seafood.

Captain Parker’s Pub

Their award-winning clam chowder is creamy and can even be served in a bread bowl, or found in many of the local supermarkets throughout Cape Cod. Their specials menu also offers various menu additions including special appetizers.

Captain Parker’s Pub even provides a prime rib dinner all day Sunday and after 4 pm on Friday and Saturday.

Overlooking Parker’s River in West Yarmouth, the second bar located on their outdoor patio is a lovely area to enjoy their happy hour on a sunny day. Although if you’re worried it’s a bit too chilly, the patio features a beautiful fire pit.

Captain Parker’s Pub does not take reservations. However, they do have a waitlist online that is worth checking out!

15. Ann and Fran’s Kitchen

Since 1975, Ann and Fran’s Kitchen has been serving classic breakfast and lunch dishes, like omelets and pancakes, made fresh to order. The atmosphere is comforting and homey, and while the seating is limited, they do offer counter seating.

Ann and Fran’s Kitchen

While known for these classic breakfasts, Ann and Fran’s also offers gluten-free and vegan alternatives for anyone with a specialty diet.

Their tofu scramble is a fantastic vegan choice that is popular among customers. They also have unique menu items, like their blueberry ricotta pancakes and their Atlantic omelet, featuring lobster, crab, and bacon!

For lunch, the Reuben is a hit. Their daily specials board provides new meal options for both breakfast and lunch, giving even their regulars the opportunity to try something new.

I can personally say Ann and Fran’s is always consistent and always clean.

This place is a must-try for anyone looking for a new brunch spot!
