The Dennis Chamber of Commerce presented checks  for $5,000 each  this morning to the Dennis and Yarmouth Fire Departments, to fund the Heart Safe Program.  The program buys defibrillators and locates them throughout the two towns. This is the third year the chamber has funded this program.

Jump Starts for Heart Stops

During a heart emergency, use of defibrillator allows treatment to begin before EMTs arrive, during the crucial few minutes that can mean the difference between life and death.

This is the 3rd year that the Dennis Chamber and the two towns fire departments have work together to raise funds for the program.  A golf tournament supported by the two towns business communities was held in June at the Dennis Highlands followed by an auction at the West Dennis Yacht Club.
