Shots fired at Hyannis housing complex
HYANNIS - Barnstable Police are trying to put the pieces together after shots were apparently fired outside a Hyannis apartment complex fraying residents nerves. Officers rushed to Founders Court at 979 Falmouth Road (Route 28) about 2:30 AM for the report of shots fired. An eyewitness reportedly told police a  male fired several shots as a car sped away from the area. It does not appear anyone was hit by the gunfire. Barnstable Police arrested 23-year old Albert Guess of Yarmouth and 19-year old Jarad Watkins of Hyannis for possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute. Update at 1:30 PM: For the second time in less than 12 hours the sun of gunfire rings out at Founders Court apartments. About 12:30 PM police raced back to the scene after the report. Fortunately again it appears no one was hit by the gun fire. This time police caught up with a suspect 22-year old John Lopez reportedly in this vehicle and charged him with possession of an unlicensed firearm and discharging a weapon within 500 feet of a dwelling. Posted on 9/23 at 4:00 AM; updated on 9/24 at 11:00 AM. Photo courtesy of Ryan Somerfield.

One injured in Hyannis rollover
HYANNIS - One person was injured in a single vehicle crash in Hyannis about 11:15 PM Friday. Barnstable Police are investigating if speed played a role in the crash on Woodland Road at Sudbury Road.

A CWN correspondent at the scene reports the vehicle apparently came around a corner and may have gone airborne as it rolled, ending up about 5 feet in the air in a tree between two houses. The driver was reportedly able to crawl out the sunroof to the ground before the ambulance arrived.

Fatal motorcycle crash reported in Yarmouth
YARMOUTH - Yarmouth Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash Friday evening. Details are sketchy but the crash happened on Route 28 at Camp Street shortly before 10 PM. No other vehicles were involved. Reports say the motorcycle operator 21-year old Darwin Perez of Harwich was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Investigators were on scene for some time with reconstruction and traffic was being rerouted. We'll bring you further details as we get them. Posted on 9/23 at 12:00 AM; updated on 9/25 at 11:00 PM.

Head-on crash in Mashpee
MASHPEE - Rescuers were called to the scene of yet another crash in Mashpee Friday afternoon. This latest one was a reported head-on crash on Great Neck Road North at Quashnet Road. It happened just after 4 PM. Initial reports say the injuries were not life-threatening. Afternoon rush hour traffic was heavily backed up in the area. School cleared after gas leak
BOURNE - Bourne High School was evacuated for a time after gas fumes reportedly began filling the building. All of the students were already out of the school when firefighters arrived around 2:15 PM and no injuries were reported. They believe the problem originated in the kitchen area. Further details were not immediately available. Posted on 9/22 at 4:15 PM.

Drivers escapes injury in collision with tractor trailer
- Two drivers incredibly suffered only minor injuries after their cars were hit bt a semi rig that apparently crossed over the center line demolishing one of them. The crash happened on Main Street (Route 130) by the Dunkin' Donuts shortly before 8 AM Friday snarling the morning commute in the area. Mashpee Police are investigating. Posted on 9/22 at 9:15 AM.
