Wellfleet Police make Marijuana bust
WELLFLEET - Wellfleet Police seized a quantity of marijuana during a raid on Sunday. A neighbor spotted live marijuana plants on Summit Avenue. Sunday afternoon Wellfleet Police along with Truro and Eastham Police and the Barnstable County Sheriff's Department descended on the property. 39-year old Steve Caminiti, his wife 38-year old Laura Caminiti and their son 19-year old Stephen Caminiti were all arrested on various Class D offenses including manufacturing and possession according to a press release from Wellfleet Police. Two pounds of marijuana, nine live plants and drug paraphernalia were seized in the raid. Steve Caminiti was also charged with having a firearm without a permit after two rifles and a shotgun were recovered. Police say they were weapons he had from New York that he failed to register in Massachusetts as required by law. Posted on 9/25 at 10:00 AM.
Bicyclist critically injured in Eastham
EASTHAM - An elderly Clearwater, FL man riding his bike with a group of bicyclists was critically injured after falling off the bike on Ocean View Drive in Eastham Early Sunday afternoon. Reports say CPR was being performed on the victim at the scene. Eastham Police and Cape Cod National Seashore Rangers are trying to determine what caused the fall. They are reportedly looking at possibly either a stone in the roadway or a medical condition. Posted on 9/25 at 10:00 AM.
Breeze brings down power line in Orleans
ORLEANS - Today's stiff breeze was apparently enough to snap a large tree limb in Orleans. The limb took a primary power line down with it along Route 6A between Eldredge Parkway and Lots Hollow Road shortly after 1:30 PM. The downed wire sparked a small brush fire. Scattered power outages have been reported and lights have blinked off and on as far away as our newsroom in Provincetown. Traffic was slowed as NStar crews had to replace a damaged pole as well. MV vs guardrail slows off Cape traffic
WEST BARNSTABLE - A single car crash on Route 6 westbound at the top of the exit 6 onramp injured one person and slowed off Cape traffic. The crash happened shortly after 12:30 PM Sunday. The driver who reports saw may have suffered a medical condition contributing to the crash was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. State Police are investigating.
