Cape Cod Art Association announces its April & May schedule

Interesting Workshops and Gallery Events Planned for the Beginning of Spring

BARNSTABLE - The Cape Cod Art Association (CCAA) has announced its schedule of gallery openings, events & workshops for April and May 2007.  A list of events and workshops follows.  Learn from some of the Cape's best artists.

GALLERY EVENTS

Excitement of Art an exhibit and sale of Artist Member works at the Cape Cod Art Association Gallery, 3480 Route 6A Barnstable. Opening and Awards: Friday, March 30, 4-6 PM. Free admission. Runs through April 23, 2007. For information call the CCAA at (508) 362-2909.

All Cape Cod an Cape-wide artists juried exhibit and sale. Entry day: Tuesday, April 24 (pick up May 22). Opening & Awards: Friday, April 27, 4-6 PM. The exhibit will run from April 26 - May 21, 2007. For information call the CCAA at (508) 362-2909.

WORKSHOPS

Photography for Artists/Art for Photographers
with Zoe Albino and Bob Singer
April 21 & 22
9:30 AM - 3:30 PM
$195 for members; $220 for non-members

This workshop is for anyone who wants to learn how to make artwork with your photos, who uses photos as a reference resource or want to take better pictures and be creative.

You will learn:

  • Equipment-all about brushes, brush strokes, paints and all about camera controls and digital editing
  • Learn how to see- composition, positioning, number, size, shape, color and focus
  • Color space- Learn about the color wheel, complementary colors, color calibration and values.
  • Perspective and Interpretation
  • Critiques of you own work- either on canvas or photograph
