Two-car crash in Centerville

Car involved in accident was found in a location other than the original crash site.

centerville102907b_278CENTERVILLE - At around 8:15 a.m. Monday morning, Barnstable Police Department and the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Department (COMM) received a call of a two-car motor vehicle accident at Route 28 and Five Corners Road in Centerville.

They searched the area and found nothing until they received a call regarding a one car accident with an injured female passenger on the shoulder of Lumbert Mill Road just south 0f Route 28.

Barnstable PD and the COMM ambulance responded and found a car with heavy front-end damage on the shoulder of the road.  The male driver was checked but not transported but the female passenger was removed from the car and taken to Cape Cod Hospital by COMM Rescue.

It is thought that the accident did occur at the Five Corners and 28 location, the drivers exchanged information and drove away.  Shortly thereafter, the female passenger began to feel the effects of the accident and the driver began having trouble with the damaged car.  It was at that time that the 911 call was made.

The original accident site and the location where the damaged car was found around about 1/3 of a mile apart.
