Brewster fire; Car engulfed in flames in West Yarmouth; Hyannis crash

Fire at Brewster boatyard

   
  One shed was fully involved and another going up rapidly. At right both were quickly consumed.
BREWSTER
- Firefighters from Brewster, Harwich and Chatham were called to battle a blaze at The Brewster Boatyard on Freeman's Way in Brewster Monday afternoon. The fire broke out about 3:45 p.m and cumsumed two 15-by-20-foot shed-type buildings before being knocked down. It was not immediately clear if any boats were damaged. No injuries were reported. Crews from Dennis and Eastham covered the empty Brewster station. The state fire marshal's office has been requested to investigate the cause of the fire. Click here for a slideshow.

Car engulfed in flames in West Yarmouth

westyarmouth121707b_225WEST YARMOUTH - Around 3:30 p.m. Monday, a BMW sedan became completely engulfed in flames in the parking lot of Becker's  Package Store on Route 28 in West Yarmouth.

Traffic on Route 28 was affected by onlookers.  The Yarmouth Fire Department quickly doused the blaze.

Car vs Pickup in South Dennis

    
This Oldsmobile Intrigue collided with a GMC pickup belonging to the Patriot Square shopping plaza.
SOUTH DENNIS
- Around 6 p.m. Monday, an Oldsmobile Intrigue traveling north on Route 134 collided with a GMC pickup owned by the Patriot Square shopping plaza as the truck entered the roadway from the parking lot at Chamberlain Realty in South Dennis. Both vehicles pulled off the roadway into the Shell gas station on the west side of 134. Dennis Rescue was called to the scene but occupants of both vehicles declined treatment. The Oldsmobile suffered moderate damage to the passenger side of the vehicle while the pickup had minor damage to the front bumper and hood. Dennis Police are investigating the accident.

Falmouth child located safe
FALMOUTH
- 6-year-old Christopher Seychew is safe. Police issued an APB for the boy and his father Richard T. Warren after Warren who does not have parental rights took the boy from Falmouth.

Warren was located in the country of Belize. The boy is safe and was reunited with his mother 8 days after the disappearance.

Warren was arrested after returning to Houston, TX following cooperation with the U.S. State Department and is to be arraigned on fugitive from justice charges.

A woman was taken to CCH after her station wagon struck a pole in Hyannis Monday morning.
HYANNIS - A woman was taken to Cape Cod Hospital after apparently losing control of her Ford Escort station wagon and striking a utility pole head-on. The crash happened about 10:45 a.m. on Main Street by Lewis Bay Road. Barnstable Police are investigating the crash. (Photo by Frank Paparo/CWN).
