Arrest in Harwich break-ins; Mashpee crash; Fiery crash closes Route 6 for two hours

One injured, one arrested after Mashpee crash
MASHPEE
- One person was taken to Falmouth Hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Mashpee about 8:15 p.m. Christmas evening. One vehicle apparently sideswiped another on Old Barnstable Road by the Quashnet Valley Golf Course. Mashpee Police are investigating the crash. One person was reportedly arrested at the scene but further details were not immediately available.

SANDWICH - Christmas morning state troopers were forced to close Route 6 eastbound after a van caught fire before exit 4.

Sandwich firefighters responded and doused the flames but the van was a total loss.

No one was injured, but the highway was shut down for a half an hour on Christmas morning.

Man arrested in connection with Harwich breaks, assault
HARWICH
- A Harwich man has been arrested in connection with a series of break-ins and an alleged assault on a caretaker last Wednesday. Afries Rodriquez of 1606 Orleans Road, Harwich, into custody based on a match of fingerprints, police said (Click here for details).  Since August Harwich Police report they have investigated at least 30 instances of illegal entries into cars, businesses and houses across the town.
