Town of Chatham issues water use advisory

Residents asked to water outside on even, odd day schedule

The town of Chatham issued the following water advisory today, Friday, July 9, 2010:

Due to the extended hot and humid weather, the water use has been at its maximum for over a week. All of our water supplies are pumping at their maximum capacity and the Water Department is having difficulty keeping up with the demand.

We are asking that all outside water use be based on your address:

EVEN street numbers water on EVEN numbered days of the month and ODD street numbers water on ODD days of the month, until further notice.

For example: Street Number 45, water on July 11, 13 and 15. Street Number 44, water on July 10, 12, and 14.

For more information, visit the town's official site here.
