We endorse Dan Wolf for State Senator for the Cape & Islands and Lance Lambros for the State Representative in the Barnstable 5th District
Let's send two successful businessmen to fight for new jobs for Cape Cod
From one plane to a fleet, from one press to many
The number one issue this political season is jobs and the economy. While we are considering how well the incumbents have represented us, and whether they deserve re-election, there are two open seats that need filling.
We think it's a good time to put successful businessmen in those seats.
Lance Lambros (D-Sandwich) has created a successful screen printing business on Cape Cod over the last 20 years. He has grown his business from one screen press to one of the largest screen printers in New England, and he is a typical small business owner; he employs sometimes less than, sometimes more than, a dozen people.
In those same twenty years, Dan Wolf (D-Harwich) has grown a one plane air service into the nation's largest independent airline employing hundreds of people on Cape Cod.
They each have been able to hire when the business plan calls for it, and lay off when economy requires it.
Let's stop talking about a running state government like business. Let's start doing it with two men that have done it for decades.
Wolf and Lambros have dedicated much of their personal time, at no small expense to their businesses, to civic matters, including serving on boards and commissions, and volunteering for service and philanthropic organizations.
Lambros spent time in town and county government. Wolf has been appointed to many positions by local and state governments. They have each made a significant impact on their own community and Cape Cod.
Jobs will end the recession, not rhetoric
If we are going to get out of this recession sooner rather than later, we need to create jobs. Small businesses grow jobs faster than large businesses, and Cape Cod is all about small business.
What we need now in our state legislature are representatives to go to Beacon Hill not to talk a good game, but to know what they are talking about, having lived it every day during their businesses careers. Whether it's taxation or regulation, this would be a good time to send someone up there who has experienced both.
Wolf and Lambros have each earned their reputations; Wolf for protecting of the environment, and Lambros for protecting social services. They each have respect for the place they live in and compassion for the people they serve. Both men have admirable credentials in government, civic and philanthropic organizations and well as in business.
Let's put them to work for us in Boston.
