Keating's video testimony at today's hearing

Congressman Bill Keating's office reports that today, our U.S. Representative's first piece of original legislation, HR 1013, the Strengthen New England Fishery Management Act of 2011, was the subject in a hearing of the House Natural Resources Committee.

After hearing testimony from Rep. Keating, as well as five other Members, including Rep. Barney Frank (MA-4),

HR 1013 is one step closer to a vote on the floor of the House of Representatives. The bipartisan support for HR 1013 displayed at the hearing is a good sign that our fishermen may soon be getting the increased research they need to effectuate fair catch limits. welcomes thoughtful comments and the varied opinions of our readers.
