HYANNIS - Below a member of the Coast Guard inspects two 1 foot by 4 foot gashes in the Steamship Authority vessel Eagle at a dock in Hyannis, Sunday morning.  According to a passenger on the Eagle, the vessel crashed into the steamship ferry Sankaty.  The passenger stated there was a loud bang around 9:15 a.m. when the ferry Eagle crashed into the Sankaty, which was docked at the time.

There were no reported injuries.

It is unclear at this time if ferry service will be affected.  It is a busy time for the Steamship Authority as this weekend Nantucket features the Nantucket Stroll which attracts thousands of off-island visitors.
