AmeriCorps and the Army Corps of Engineers will host the 12th annual canal clean-up event on Saturday, April 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  This year, the central location has changed. Volunteers will meet at the base of the Railroad Bridge at the recently improved Buzzards Bay Recreation Area off of Main Street in Buzzards Bay.

In addition to cleaning up trash along the Canal, volunteers will have the opportunity to paint a mural, maintain a trail, build a rain garden, and install signage and dog waste bag dispensers.

There will also be a variety of environmental educational booths and demonstrations. Free bagels and coffee will be provided for breakfast, as well as pizza for lunch.

Take this opportunity to beautify the Canal and volunteer alongside other community members! Details and updates available on the AmeriCorps site here.
