Human remains found in Falmouth woods Friday

Police on scene all day gathering evidence

BARNSTABLE - State Police detectives assigned to the Cape Cod & Islands District Attorney’s Office and Falmouth police spent a good part of Friday collecting evidence at a crime scene off Hayway Road in Falmouth after human remains were reportedly found.

Authorities searched a wooded area close to a water tower near the Frances A. Crane Wildlife Management Area and the Falmouth Country Club between 242 and 334 Hayway Road.

The investigators cordoned off a large section of woods with crime scene tape when they arrived at the scene around 8:30 a.m.  As many as twelve marked and unmarked cruisers were in the area as investigators gathered evidence until nightfall.

We will update the story as more information becomes available.
