91st Annual Mashpee Wampanoag Powwow is a weekend long event from June 29 to July 1. Gates open at 10am. 2012 Powwow Theme: Honoring our Future Through our Youth. The Mashpee Wampanoag Powwow is the longest running powwow on the East Coast. The traditional celebration of Mashpee Wampanoag “People of the First Light” culture features Native American dancing, drumming, games, food, art, jewelry, wampum, crafts and clothing. This year, The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe will be awarding $35,000 in prizes to winners of the dance and drum competitions. Tickets for the Mashpee Wampanoag Powwow may be purchased at the gate on the day of attendance. Special group rates are available. $13 Adults $8 Children (12 and under) $8 Elders (62 and over) Barnstable County Fairgrounds (Falmouth)
The Big Catch 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM. Wade into the water with large seine nets and see if you can catch fish, shrimp, crabs, and other sea creatures. We'll dip net, seine, and beachcomb the tidal creeks at high tide and get wet to our waists! For ages 6 and older. Registration required. 7$ for members and 9$ for non-members. Small Fries Summer Discovery 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Dip your preschooler's toes into nature with an interactive, introductory story, an adventure to the pond where we will dip net for fish, frogs and turtles, and a fun craft to take home. For ages 2 - 5 with one or more adults. Registration required. At Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. (South Wellfleet)
Highland Cape Cod Lighthouse Tour 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM. Tour Highland Lighthouse, daily from 10am to 5:30pm, May 19 through mid October. Gift shop closes at 6pm. Admission is $4 per person, all ages. There is a 48 inch height requirement for all children. Highland Lighthouse (North Truro)

Guys and Dolls Paper Figures 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM Guys and Dolls Paper Figures, Fridays from 2pm to 3pm., June 29 through August 17. Drop-in program for ages 3 and up.

Seashore Ramble 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM. Use dip nets and magnifiers to search for swimming, flying, and burrowing wildlife on the sanctuary's beach at low tide. Our walk to the beach will take us through five different Cape Cod habitats. We hope to see crabs, turtles, fish, and much more! For ages 4 and older with adult. Pre-registration required. Family South Beach Adventure (Chatham) 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM Cruise along the shores of South Beach and Monomoy Islands in Chatham looking for seals, shorebirds, and sea ducks. Then get off the boat at the tip of South Beach and explore the newly formed “land bridge”. We’ll also walk over to the ocean side to search for seals frolicking in the surf, watch shorebirds feeding, and beachcomb for seashells and other treasures from the tide. for ages 4 and older. Pre-registration required.

Nauset Marsh Discovery Cruise (Orleans) 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM Cruise through Nauset Marsh on a pontoon boat and disembark on the exposed tidal flats to search, with nets and magnifiers, for wildlife.
