Cape Cod Baseball League Commissioner Paul Galop announced the league's 2013 season Sunday.  Opening day for the regular season begins on Wednesday, June 12. As in 2012, there will be no scheduled double-headers.

Almost 300,000 spectators came out to watch the teams compete during the 2012 regular season, according to the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL).  The All-Star game and play-offs drew even more fans.  "The real beauty of the schedule will be the convenience for our fans," said Commissioner Galop. "Every team is home at least one weekend day, every weekend, either on Saturday or Sunday. The balance is superb where every team has 11 home and 11 away games in both the first and second halves of the season."

Game time changes were also announced for 2013. Hyannis Harbor Hawks home games will now begin at 6 p.m., Wareham Gatemen will play Sunday games at 5 p.m. and Harwich Mariners and Falmouth Commodores home games will move to 5:30 p.m.

The date for the CCBL All-Star Game was also announced. That popular contest will be held on Saturday, July 27 at Red Wilson Field in South Yarmouth behind Dennis-Yarmouth High School.

Play-offs will begin on Thursday, August 6.

The Wareham Gatemen defeated the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox's for last season's championship title.

The daily calendar of 2013 game times will be posted on the league's site at a later time.
