Markey to kick off Senate campaign on the Cape Saturday

The 5th District Congressman will be at the Barnstable Senior Center to drum up Cape support
Congressman Ed Markey will be in Hyannis on February 23.

Congressman Ed Markey will be in Hyannis this Saturday to drum up Cape support for his grassroots Senate campaign.  Markey, who represents the 5th District announced earlier this year that he is running for the US Senate seat recently left vacant by John Kerry.

Governor Deval Patrick picked pal William "Mo" Cowan to serve as the interim senator until the special election in June. But the primaries come first in April and Markey will be going up against fellow Democrat Rep. Stephen Lynch.

To gather support here on Cape, Markey will be meeting with constituents at the Barnstable Senior Center at 825 Falmouth Road in Hyannis on Saturday, February 23 at 11 a.m.
