Over 100 greet Democratic candidate for the US Senate at the Barnstable Senior Center

100 people turned out to hear Congressman Ed Markey who came to Cape Cod Saturday and spoke strongly about his concerns about the Plymouth Pilgrim Nuclear Power Plant to a group from Cape Downwinders as well as other issues ranging from the middle class to women's rights to the environment

Both Representative Sarah Peake and Senator Dan Wolf spoke out strongly in support of the large Cape Downwinders contingent that was present at the rally.

Senator Wolf has come out unequivocally about his desire to shut down Pilgrim now.

And Representative (Senatorial candidate) Ed Markey has introduced legislation trying to make Pilgrim safer.

Congressman Ed Markey was in Hyannis Saturday to drum up Cape support for his grassroots Senate campaign.

Markey, who represents the 5th District announced earlier this year that he is running for the US Senate seat recently left vacant by John Kerry.
