Assault & battery, operating with a suspended license and warrant arrests
Thirteen arrests were made in Yarmouth last week.

During the period of Monday, May 27, 2013 through Monday, June 3, 2013, the officers of the Yarmouth Police Department responded to 954 calls for service.

In the course of that week, there were 132 motor vehicle stops and 15 motor vehicle accidents. There were no OUI arrests during the week.  There were five reported break-ins (2 residential, 1 commercial and 2 motor vehicle). Thirteen domestic violence incidents were reported.

Thirteen people were taken into custody and five were placed under protective custody.

Those arrested were:

  • On Saturday, June 1 at 1:05 a.m., James L. Jordan of Bulter, West Yarmouth, was arrested during a suspicious person investigation at the McDonald's on Route 28 and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and trespassing.
  • On Friday, May 31 at 9:27 p.m., Donald H. Sutherland of 47 Farm Hill Road, Barnstable, was arrested during a reported disturbance at One Kerry Court Apt. A and charged with breaking and entering a building a nighttime for a felony and assault and battery.
  • On Friday, May 31 at 5:33 a.m., Courtney Naylor of 18 Town Hall Ave., South Yarmouth, was arrested during a reported domestic disturbance at that address and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
  • On Thursday, May 30 at 8:22 a.m., David A. Rose of 15 Earl Rd, Sandwich, was arrested during a motor vehicle stop on South Sea Ave. at Acres Ave. and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
  • On Wednesday, May 29 at 4:40 p.m., John Douglas Hobbs of 338 Station Ave. Apt. 407, Yarmouth, was arrested during a motor vehicle stop on Route 28 on an open warrant.
  • On Wednesday, May 29 at 11:23 p.m., Kevin M. O'Brien of 133 Witchwood Ave., South Yarmouth, was arrested during a field investigation at Winslow Gray Road and Buck Island Road and charged with receiving stolen property over $250 and an open warrant.
  • On Tuesday, May 28 at 9:22 p.m., Benjamin D. Fortier of 24 Jeannes Path, Yarmouth Port, was arrested during a domestic disturbance call at that address and charged with assault and battery.
  • On Tuesday, May 28 at 12:32 p.m., Joshua B. Martin of 119 Sequattom Road, Harwich, was arrested during a motor vehicle stop on Regional Ave. at Brentway Drive and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent offense) and having no inspection sticker.
  • On Tuesday, May 28 at 10:12 a.m., Kenneth D. Simmons of 125 Sisson Road, Harwichport, was arrested during a motor vehicle stop on Mill Pond Road at Route 28 and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
