Truro car vs. cruiser sends two to the hospital

Officer and VW driver treated for non life-threatening injuries

NORTH TRURO -  A car vs. cruiser crash on Route 6 in North Truro sent two to the hospital Thursday evening. The crash occurred around 6:45 p.m. at the Highland Road on-ramp at Route 6. 

According to a Truro police release, the female driver of a Volkswagen was turning north towards Provincetown onto Route 6 from the southbound ramp when the crash occurred.

Both Officer Mark Sklut and the driver of the VW were transported to Cape Cod Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Officer Sklut was treated and released, police said. The condition of the other driver is unknown.

Police did not indicate the severity of the crash or if one or both vehicles were towed from the scene. Wellfleet and Provincetown officers assisted at the scene.

There were no charges filed by police. The crash is under investigation.
