Falmouth car vs. bicycle sends cyclist to Boston hospital

FPD: Cyclist was not wearing a helmet, bike had no lights

FALMOUTH - A bicyclist was injured Tuesday night in a crash with a car on Sandwich Road around 5:30 p.m. According to a Falmouth police release, both the car and the bike were traveling north near Greenwood Street when the car struck the bike.

The unidentified cyclist was transported to a Boston area hospital by a MedFlight crew with serious injuries, police said.

The cyclist was not wearing a helmet and the bike was not equipped with a light, police said.

Falmouth police are investigating the cause of the crash and did identify the driver or indicate if there would be any charges.
