Dennis police announce Route 134 repaving delays for May 20

Detours will be in place, delays should be expected

Dennis police announced this week that a repaving project on Route 134 next Tuesday, May 20, will create detours and cause delays. According to a Dennis police release, repaving is set to begin at 5 a.m. at the intersection of Route 134 and Upper County Road in South Dennis

Several detours will be in place. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes for the day, police said. Only northbound and southbound traffic will be allowed on Route 134 from Theophilis Smith Road to Center Street in South Dennis.

No turns will be allowed from Route 134 onto Upper County Road from the start of the project at 5 a.m. until its conclusion at 5 p.m.

The following detours will be in effect:

  • Great Western Road at South Gages Way
  • Upper County Road at Center Street
  • Upper County Road at Main Street
  • Highbank Road at Main Street

Access to local homes and businesses will be allowed, but delays are to be expected. Residents and business owners are asked to plan ahead.

Rain will likely push the work off until the next day, Wednesday, May 21.
