Mashpee Cares will host a community forum on Thursday, May 29 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Mashpee Public Library at 64 Steeple Street. Mashpee Cares is a coalition comprised of residents, health professionals, public safety officials, town representatives and teachers dedicated to building a healthier, safer Mashpee.
Mashpee Police Chief Rodney Collins will attend the forum on Thursday and speak about substance abuse and how it relates to crime. Chief Collins will also discuss his department's current substance abuse related initiatives.
To support and strengthen the community, Mashpee Cares raises awareness about community resources, works to reduce problems that weaken a community including substance abuse and crime and promotes better mental and physical wellbeing.
