Third update for MassDOT roadwork on Route 6 in Wellfleet

More grinding and repaving set for Thursday during the day

Wellfleet police have issued their third release pertaining to roadwork on Route 6 in their town. On Thursday, October 2, the state will be back at work grinding and repaving portions of Route 6 headed east towards Truro.

The project originally caused traffic snarls during the day Monday. Work was then moved from the day to the evening on Tuesday and it was first thought Wednesday would not be needed to complete the project.

Work will now extend into Thursday, October 2, starting at 7 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m. On previous days one lane of traffic was shut down. On Thursday, work areas will be coned off and traffic will be permitted to proceed in both directions to lessen delays.

Motorist should use extra caution when driving through the work areas on Route 6.
