Be gone gray skies and slushy snow! It's time to think red, white and blue. The Chatham Independence Day Parade Committee recently announced that applications are now being accepted for participants in the 2015 parade.

This year's theme is "Distinctly Chatham"--a celebration of all the things that make Chatham special from architecture and sounds to the people, history, nature and memories.

According to the parade committee, now in its 108th year, the annual Chatham 4th of July parade attracts more than 20,000 spectators.

Completed applications must be returned to the parade committee by Friday, June 5, 2015.  Incomplete applications or applications turned in after June 5 will not be accepted.

Applicants must adhere to safety rules as outlined by the parade committee and the Chatham Police Department.

This year, the parade committee has made a few improvements including pre-registration, designated check-in times and an extended parade route.
