Falmouth police arrest unregistered Level 2 sex offender on drug, warrant charges

FALMOUTH - Falmouth police arrested a homeless man Saturday afternoon during a drug violation call at Teaticket Highway and Maravista Ave. Ext. According to police, 34-year-old Raul Figueroa, homeless/Falmouth, was arrested at 12:35 p.m. 

At the time of his arrest, Figueroa was found to have three outstanding arrest warrants. One was for possession of a Class A substance and carrying a dangerous weapon and the second was for larceny by credit card and credit card fraud. The third warrant was for failure to register as a Level 2 sex offender. 

During a search of his person, police seized undisclosed quantities of Clonazepam, marijuana and heroin. Figueroa was transported to the Falmouth Police Station where he was booked and in addition to the three warrants, charged with possession of a Class A substance and possession of a Class E substance. He was arrainged in Falmouth District Court on Monday.

The state Sex Offender Registration Board (SORB) deems Level 2 sex offenders at a moderate risk to reoffend. Unlike Level 3 sex offenders, the SORB website does not include information about all Level 2 sex offenders. Only information on Level 2 sex offenders classified after July 12, 2013 are available on the SORB website.
