The Mashpee Summer Arts & Craft Festival will be held at the Mashpee Public Library Commons in Mashpee this coming weekend, Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2. This fourth annual festival is presented by Castleberry Fairs and features more than 75 juried artisans and craftspeople.
Today, "arts and craft" covers a vast array of media including the expected-- painting and sculpture, photography and jewelry, pottery and floral arrangements--and the unexpected--fiber arts, one-of-a-kind handbags, blown glass, wood, metal and leather works and custom signs. Festival goers will also be thrilled to find handmade soaps, headbands and other hair art, home decor, house flags, furniture, folk toys and doll clothes.
All works are American made, many are one-of-a-kind.
The Mashpee Summer Arts & Craft Festival is truly a place for all the arts. Authors will be on hand to sign their books and musicians will be there providing a theme for the occasion. Today's arts & craft festivals share something with farmers markets. Handmade works are complimented by homemade treats and specialty foods from dips and dressings to honey and jellies (be sure to save room for samples).
The festival will be held rain or shine on Saturday, August 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, August 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Mashpee Summer Arts & Craft Festival is a fundraiser for the Mashpee Public Library.
Admission to the show is free, as is parking. Even friendly pets on leashes are welcomed.
