Town of Barnstable begins roadwork in Hyannis, West Barnstable

Work expected to be completed by October 2

The Barnstable Department of Public Works begins work this week in two separate areas of town. Improvements including milling of existing roadway surfaces and drainage system upgrades will be done on Pine Street, Parker Road and High Street in West Barnstable and on Oakland Road in Hyannis. New asphalt pavement surfaces will also be placed on those roads.

The work will be done between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. When work is not being done, both lanes will be open to traffic.

Weather-permitting, the project is expected to be completed by Friday, October 2.

Motorist should expect delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes while the project is underway. Signs will be posted in work areas to guide motorists.
