Route 6 detour planned for Windmill Weekend parade

The 38th annual Eastham Windmill Weekend parade will step off at 1 p.m. on Route 6 in Eastham Sunday afternoon. According to an Eastham police release, a detour around the Route 6 parade route will be in place between 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Parade participants will gather at Old Orchard Road and head down Route 6 toward the Eastham Windmill Green. 

Route 6 will be closed from Great Pond Road to Samoset Road. Motorists will be detoured around this area.

Motorist should expect delays if traveling during the time of the parade.

Eastham police officers will be present to guide motorists through the area.

The 38th Eastham Windmill Weekend will be held through Sunday afternoon. Most activities take place at the Windmill Green on Route 6.
