Participants wanted for the Truro Library Angel Tree Project

Sign out an angel and fulfill a child's holiday wish

Participants are being sought for the 12th annual Angel Tree Project. The project, sponsored by the Friends of the Truro Library in cooperation with the Homeless Prevention Council and their Adopt-a-Family for the Holidays program, sees that children in need receive a special gift and a warm hat and gloves.

The Angel Tree is up at the library and adorned with angels, each bearing the gender and age of a child.

Those who wish to participate need only choose an angel and sign it out at the circulation desk. Once you have purchased a holiday gift, hat and gloves for your chosen child, bring the unwrapped items back to the library. The deadline for returning your gifts to the library is Saturday, December 5. Last year, according to the Homeless Prevention Council, 284 children from 130 families received holiday gifts through the program.

For more information about the program, call the library at 508-487-1125. The Truro Library is at 7 Standish Way in North Truro.
