Winter storm will impact mainland, strong winds here

Coast Guard says secure your boats now, seek safe haven if on water

US Coast Guard Northeast issued the following advisory this morning:

"Gale force and possible storm force winds are highly likely Thursday and Friday for all southern New England coastal waters with strongest winds off the east coast of Massachusetts. NOW is the time to secure your boats and prepare to seek safe haven if out on the water."

Tomorrow's storm is currently forecast to drop several inches of snow on the mainland, primarily in central and western parts of the state.  Rain and wind are currently forecast for the Cape area.
