Monomoy Regional High School broke ground in mid-July on their new All Sports Boosters concession stand.

“This is a project that will benefit our entire community,” said Scott Carpenter, Superintendent of Monomoy Regional School District. “The stadium is not only used by our Monomoy teams, but also youth sports programs from across the Cape. The addition of a concession stand and restroom facility will provide much needed amenities for those who come to watch field hockey, soccer, lacrosse, track & field, cheerleading and football events.”

After hearing about the project, The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod was quick to offer a donation of $10,000, paid out in $5,000 increments over two years.

“Supporting our schools and our youth is vitally important to the health of our communities,” said Joel Crowell, President and CEO of The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod. “Through projects like this, we’re able to partner in a tangible way with the organizations that do so much to make our towns and villages positively different.”

Citing the generosity of the donors in the wider community, Carpenter stated that they are still in need of monetary and in-kind donations. “We’re grateful for our many volunteers and community donors who have already given towards this project,” he said.” “We still need your help. Financial donations or contributions of products and services that could be auctioned by the All Sports Boosters are urgently needed in order to purchase materials to complete this project before the Spring 2017 athletic season.”

“To take this project over the finish line, funds will be needed to purchase the remaining supplies, fixtures, and equipment to outfit the kitchen,” said Crowell. “We encourage local business owners, parents, and philanthropists to join us in helping Monomoy complete their concession stand.”

Once completed, the concession stand will be operated by the Monomoy All Sports Boosters, a new parent organization, and the proceeds from the concessions stand will support all Monomoy athletic teams.
