Wellfleet Police investigate suspicious assault and battery

Public's assistance, witnesses sought

From Wellfleet Police:

On Monday March 13, 2017 at approximately 10:00 pm Wellfleet PD were dispatched to Fred Bell Way to investigate an assault and battery. Upon the arrival of the officers they meet up with a 44 year old white male with injuries consistent with an assault and battery. Wellfleet Rescue Squad arrived on location and treated the 44 year old male and transported to the individual to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

During the initial investigation, officers learned that the assault and battery occurred on Pine Point Road. Officers are following up on some initial leads and identified individuals who may be involved or witnessed the event. At this time, we don’t believe this to be a random event and those involved have a connection with each other.
