Speed up your PC with Iolo System Mechanic

Having trouble with your PC?

Having trouble with your PC? Some programs are slow and everything feels sluggish? Don’t worry, now you have a solution for it! The iolo system mechanic is the name of an extensive suite of tools used for tweaking and optimizing systems. It comes together with lots of features that help you protect your security online, speed up the PC or clear out files you don’t need.

The Startup Optimizer

Out of all features provided by the Iolo System Mechanic, the Startup Optimizer is perhaps the most popular. It is a tool that helps you stop the programs you don’t want from automatically launch whenever you start Windows. Moreover, you can stop them from running in the background constantly.

This may not seem so important, but truth is that these programs slow down the computer a lot. If they are closed, the system will have a quicker start up (thus the name of the feature). Besides, you will have the maximum available memory, as well as CPU resources to use. The apps will now run smoother and faster, optimizing the entire system.

How to Find the Startup Optimizer

When you open the System Mechanic, you will see the main Dashboard. Then you will see there an invitation to analyze the PC you have for issues. If you want to see an overview of the state of the system. Then you can also correct the errors you find, if you wish.

To reach the Startup Optimizer, you have to click on the Toolbox found on the left-hand pane. Choose Speed Up if you want to see the System Mechanic’s optimization tools. Then scroll down until the bottom and you will notice the Startup Optimizer. Click on the name to open the feature.

Main View in System Mechanic

The System Mechanic software takes a few seconds to analyze the startup items. Next, you will see a list of processes that usually launch automatically on the system. Surprisingly, you might see that the list is quite long. And this happens because many legitimate apps (like Apple iTunes or Adobe Acrobat) usually install some other “helper apps” on the PC, besides the main program. They have a useful role, to help the software start faster when you need it. Moreover, they also let you use system tray icons, but that doesn’t mean they can’t get in your way as well.

Finally, all you need to do is to decide whether you want to keep the startup item or not. There are three options: leave it on, turn it off, or make it launch after some time. The third option could be the most viable, since you could take advantage of the program’s fast features without slowing down the startup process.
