Laughing for a Cure - October 7th

An evening of comedy to support women’s cancers research

On Saturday, Oct. 7, Dancing for a Cure will present “Laughing for a Cure,” a comedy show to support women’s cancers research and benefit the Friends of Dana-Farber, an all-volunteer community that has raised more than $33 million for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The show starts at 7 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Hyannis.

Hosted by actress and comedian Regina DeCicco, the evening’s exciting lineup includes headliner Leighann Lord (HBO, Comedy Central) and comedians Tara Cannistraci, Kimberley Hellem and Cape Cod’s Christine Ernst.

Dancing for a Cure was created in 2006 by Susan Mendoza Friedman in honor of Karen Schek, who was diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian cancer at the age of 51 and ultimately lost her battle. The group is comprised of dedicated women from across Cape Cod who host events year-round to raise critical funds for Dana-Farber. All proceeds raised by Dancing for a Cure benefits a specific fund for the Friends of Dana-Farber that supports ovarian and breast cancer research.
